| Casey
|

"Casey"
is a neutered male, age 7-8 years. Yes, he may look a bit older in these pictures as
some do gray at a young age. But Casey is an
active guy that enjoys socializing and making friends, and is really
looking for his special person or people. He loves to 'hang out' and
help with chores, go for walks etc. Casey was picked up as a stray so
no background on him but he does not seem to have any temperment issues
with people or dogs. He does not seem to have a lot of formal training
but does bond easily and respond well to learning a routine. He will
need some close observation and structure initially in a new home
but then should settle in well. While Casey has a heart of gold and the
best of intentions he may be too much dog for a home with small
children or pets as he may be a bit too enthusiastic. Casey would
just love to be someone's best buddy, and would love to go from his
foster home to a 'real' home.
Casey
is located in Boise, ID. Contact - Diane Mazy (ACC Rescue)

MOLLY
|
Molly is a
wonderful well-trained and well-behaved 9 yr. old. Shhh....don't
mention her age because she still thinks she's a teenager. She's active
and has worked in obedience and agility. Loves to go for long walks and
just wants to be someone's best and only friend. Molly will make a
great dog for a single older woman or a couple who just want a loving
and devoted companion. (Sorry, photos taken on hot day!)

|
JESSIE
|
Jessie is a small 3 yr. old boy. Sedge, nice
coat, about 60 lbs. Loves to swim and just enjoys hanging out. Ready to
be your best friend. Would make a good companion dog for someone who
lives a quiet lifestyle and wants a real buddy to hang out with. Jessie
should be able to hunt with some training.

|
MACK
|
Mack is a large solid medium tan boy. About 7
years old and a happy-go-lucky guy. He's active and enjoying life.
Sweet, good temperament. Gets along with other dogs who are not pushy.
Good with kids, preferably older kids since he's active and might knock
over kids age 6 and under. Mack will be a good dog for someone who
likes to hike and needs a backpacking buddy.

DUKE
|
Duke is a great 9 yr. old Chesapeake with a
handsome sedge coat. He spent most of his life tied or outside and is
growing back some neck fur. He'd love to find a home where someone will
give him enough attention to show him how to enjoy life as an only dog
in a laidback lifestyle. He's ready to be your buddy and best friend.
Duke is sweet, noble, and full of love to give. And he deserves what he
needs.

HONEY
|
Honey needs Cruciate
Ligament Tear surgery (CLT)....please help! Send a donation in her name to NY CBR Rescue. Honey is a
sweet, medium-sized heavy set 4 yr. old female. Dark brown with a
little white on her chest. Loves to grin and can be soft, but will give
good warning when someone's coming. Got a big bark with no bite. Honey
is good with other dogs (large or medium) and older kids. Too big for
small fries. With the surgery she needs, Honey will be able to enjoy
many happy years with a new owner provided that her weight is
maintained. The surgery is $1500-2000...even just $20 can really help
this sweet Chessie. Please mail in a donation to Honey.

who is retired and has grandkids that come over now and then. Maggie
would love to hang out with her new owners enjoying the real country
life.

A big,
well bred, handsome fellow, 5 years old, light brown with a small white

room and time to exercise regularly. Copper will respond and bond well
with a man he can trust; a very special boy. For info, contact Jane
Peabody, Chesapeake Safe Harbor, 207-529-4511, jpeabody@tidewater.net.

JD
|

A nice,
gentle and affectionate 8 year old male Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
JD is
approximately 85 pounds and can afford to shed a few pounds with his
new family. Currently he is enrolled in our obedience program to get
him polished for his new family. JD is
about 6 years old,
neutered, current on shots, and is playful and loving. Poor JD has
never had a home life - one of our sad friends left on the end of a
chain for 6 years. Safe Harbor plans to change that very quickly!
.
For info, contact Jane
Peabody, Chesapeake Safe Harbor, 207-529-4511, jpeabody@tidewater.net

BUDDY
|
- a 6 yr
old dark brown neutered male Chessie - Buddy has been with us quite a
while now and has always been protective of his space and fearful of
new people coming into it, so needs ongoing socialization and obedience
training. We have been working with Buddy on these areas and he has
shown some notable progress. He still will require a person that will
continue with his training, and that he can trust and bond to. He's
extremely intelligent and has coped with his life in our rescue program
very well. We would not put Buddy in a home with small children as he
has never experienced them. A solitary person, with a quiet social life
and room for him/her and BUddy to play and train would be the ideal
home. A truly handsome Chessie - in the prime of his life and so
deserving of another chance. For info, contact Jane
Peabody, Chesapeake Safe Harbor, 207-529-4511, jpeabody@tidewater.net.

he is and want to make a home for him. Danny loves his toys, always has
one to carry out with him. He does prefer country life - city streets
are very stressful for Danny. For info, contact Jane
Peabody, Chesapeake Safe Harbor, 207-529-4511, jpeabody@tidewater.net.

ZEKE
|
A very sweet 4-1/2 year old neutered male. Zeke is deaf, apparently
since birth. This special needs dog is looking for that special person
to understand him and keep him safe. Has been with children - but
concern about possessive attitude of food, etc. with other dogs. Zeke
will need to be in a home with no small children or other dogs. He is
obedience trained and good with hand signals - is gentle of mouth when
taking food from hand; he will amuse himself with his toys - a very
good youngster..... but still a lot of puppy. For info, contact Jane
Peabody, Chesapeake Safe Harbor, 207-529-4511, jpeabody@tidewater.net. |

Malcolm
|
Malcolm is an extra large (111 lbs.) Chesapeake
Bay Retriever with a beautiful dark brown coat who was found abandoned
locally in eastern MA. He is extremely strong and will need some
training for basic obedience and leash walking. He gets along
great with dogs of any size. He pretty much ignores cats but does
like to sniff them. He loves riding in the car and sniffing
around the yard but is not interested in fetching. He does like
to play in water. Appoximately 5 years old, he is usually mellow
and does not jump up on people. He is a sweet and happy dog who
is somewhat reserved but likes to play with other dogs and is social
when meeting new people. He is being fostered with children as
young as 5 and is fine with being handled. He will try to get on
the furniture if you let him! He requires a fenced in yard.
Malcolm does have some special needs. He
recently had surgery to remove a mast cell tumor from his left front
leg. He has a good prognosis but will need an owner who is
vigilant about having growths checked as there is about a 50%
recurrence rate. In addition, he is currently on antibiotics for
some skin lesions which are responding to antibiotic treatment.
He was also treated for ear infections, conjunctivitis, and hot spots
but these conditions cleared up quickly and he is feeling much better.
Currently Malcolm is owned and fostered by
Canine Connections but he has been evaluated by ACC Rescue. For
adoption information on Malcolm please email Joanne Getchell,
chessie@gis.net or call 617-816-7257.
