Breed Health Statement
The American Chesapeake Club (ACC) Board of Directors and the ACC Health Committee approved the following Health Statement for Chesapeake Bay Retrievers:  The ACC Board of Directors strongly recommends that all breeding stock be free of Hip/Elbow Dysplasia, Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) in addition to all hereditary eye diseases, Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), and Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) –tested Normal or otherwise. The above health statement was proposed by our ACC Health Committee then approved by the ACC Board of Directors on September 11, 2016, (ACC Board Motion 16:39).

Advertisers must be ACC members in good standing for a period of one year or more before placing an ad. The absence of OFA/CERF/PRA/DM/EIC information indicates to the buyer that they should inquire about these conditions/clearances. Inclusion on these classified lists does not imply endorsement by the ACC or guarantee health clearances. The ACC accepts ads in good faith. Guarantees or warranties (expressed or implied) are the sole responsibility of the advertiser.

(VA) SOAPSTONERIDGE’S SHAGGY OF REDBRANCH

(Out of WESTWIND’S RUDY OF NORDAIS X LEITNER FARMS SAILING FOR BLUE)

Born 3/6/25

Shaggy is through Force Fetch, working on Mini T.  He is an excellent marker one of the best, but he has a huge fear of the water.  He can swim, but it is a force to get him in every single time.  He has two Junior Hunter passes, BCAT and 1 show ribbon.  He is not going to be a good candidate for anything involving the water.  It has been a phobia since we got him at about 8 wks of age.  HE is the sweetest boy, loves to cuddle and hang out.  He supposedly has a DJD1 in his left elbow and an osteophyte.  Not sure if this will ever affect him but he shouldn’t be bred, and does have a higher risk of developing problems in that elbow. We are an open book feel free to ask.
